When the waters of Lake Nasser to rise, UNESCO relocated them to a big land between 1964 and 1968. These two temples were built by Pharaoh Ramesses II to celebrate himself and his wife, Nefertari. It’s an out of this world, and its temples are hailed as one of the most attractive in Egypt. What’s even more interesting about the Abu Simbel is the amount of exertion put into relocating and preserving it.
